"Buckel” Up Art Auction

The Friends of the Mott Library completed yet another successful FUNdraiser!

“Buckel Up” Art Auction was our auction of all time.  Renowned artist Jim Buckels joined us for the Preview and “Last Chance” Sale.  He greeted attendees, dedicated purchased art, and shared insights on his work.  Many took photos with Jim and their prize art pieces purchased at the auction.

State of the Art presented the auction.  Art included works by Boulanger, Buckels, Chagall, Dali, Neiman, Picasso, Patricia, and Wooster Scott.  Eric Steiner, auctioneer, gave an informative and entertaining description of each piece before bidding began.

Any art that was not sold at the auction was available for purchase at the “Last Chance” Sale at the opening bid price.  Many returned to buy additional pieces.  A total of 117 pieces of art sold at this fundraiser.

The Friends organization received over $5,000 profit.  All auction proceeds will go directly back into programs that will strengthen and enhance library services for students and community patrons.

This incredible event was possible with a little help from our FRIENDS…   Many thanks for your support and continued generosity!

"Shake Off the Winter Blues” Silent Auction

The Friends conducted a “Shake Off the Winter Blues” fundraiser in the Event Center on April 1, 2009. A wide array of baskets and other packages were available in a silent auction that attracted over 100 campus and community attendees. A barbecue lunch, catered by Sam’s Italian Restaurant, added to the enjoyment and the sounds of Laurie and Rusty Wright on guitar and vocals made the afternoon a fun-filled event. The Friends profit was $3,600 and will be used to support library initiatives over the next year.
