a librarian if you need assistance.

Books: Looking for a book by title or author, or books on a particular subject or topic?

  • Use the Library Catalog for materials owned by Mott Library, as well other libraries in the PALnet library cooperative.
  • Select WHAT to search in, and then type in what you’re looking for
  • Check out the limit/sort option

Magazine or Journal Articles: use our online indexes to search for information within magazine and journal publications; many articles are “full-text”—the complete article may be available from the database

  • Start with the Online Resources
  • Thomson-Gale Power Search offers many databases.  General Reference Center Gold, Expanded Academic, and Academic OneFile offer excellent coverage on a broad range of subjects
  • OCLC FirstSearch—a collection of over twenty-five databases, many of which focus on a specific discipline, such as art, business, education, medicine, and science.  Wilson Select Plus is a great full-text database on any subject.
