Laboratory Equipment

The FABLAB has an extensive array of digital fabrication and prototyping equipment to address a broad range of ideas and requirements.
The lab user can create a rapid, proof-of-concept prototype to validate product design and assist in determining market viability.
Current MCC FABLAB Equipment:

Laser Engraving Cutter

The Epilog 50 watt CO² laser is capable of engraving, marking, and/or cutting various materials such as; paper, cardboard, wood, glass, leather, laserable plastic, acrylic, corian, and marble.

Vinyl Cutter

The Roland Programmable Vinyl Cutter is capable of producing electronic copper circuit paths, decals, and signage from a variety of different vinyl material types.

ShopBot CNC Router

This machine can perform precision, large format, cutting, drilling, machining, and shaping operations on products up to 4 feet by 8 feet. The system uses standard G-code programming and input from several CAD systems.

Stratasys Dimension SST1200es

This 3-D printer creates prototype parts directly from 3-D CAD files using ABS plastic. The dimension has a 10 inch by 10 inch by 12 inch work envelope.

TorchMate CNC Plasma Cutter

Plasma cutters can be used to produce complex shapes on various types of metal from low carbon steel and soft cast iron to high carbon and stainless steels, aluminum, brass, and bronze.

DaVinci CNC Bench Top Mill

This small high speed mill can be used for precision milling of wood, plastic, metals, and circuit board materials.

Electronics Fabrication and Testing Bench

The FABLAB includes basic electrical design and test equipment to develop circuit designs and control systems.

Polycom Videoconferencing Bridge

This system allows each FABLAB from around the world the capabacity to collaborate on projects in real time. Visit Norway, Amsterdam, Iceland or any other lab with just the click of a button.

The lab also has networked workstations and a suite of software to support product Design & Development.
